Leyland Olympian with Cityview bodywork - S3BL174
[ Back to KMB > HKBEC > GAKEI.com ]

The original Alexander body of Leyland Olympian S3BL174 (DR 889) was destroyed by fire some years ago. Kowloon Motor Bus ("KMB") then sent the chassis to Guangzhou Cityview Bus Installation Co., Ltd. (廣州穗景客車制造有限公司) of the People's Republic of China, for rebuilding the body. The new body was so-called designed by Cityview but its outlook is very similar to the Alexander product. The bus re-entered service in late-1995 and was re-registered as GP 7528.

The bus was seen serving Route 82X. Do you think the rear of the bus looks like that of MCW Super Metrobus? (1996/09/26)

S3BL174 has been a spare bus maintained by Shatin Depot. This day the bus was on Route 81C. Note that the fleet number shown on the front was not correct, the numbers, '7' and '4', were disappeared and the bus became 'S3BL1'. (2000/01/22)

Above: S3BL174 and S3BL412. The Cityview body is quite similar to the Alexander 'R' body on S3BL412. (2000/01/22)

The interior of S3BL174. The seats installed inside the bus are similar to those in the early KMB air-conditioned buses. (2000/01/22)
