China Motor Bus | Daimler / Leyland Fleetline

Hong Kong's first Daimler Fleetline (RLX1, later re-numbered as SF1) was introduced by China Motor Bus ("CMB") in 1972 and the model was CRG6LX-30. The bus was 30 feet in length and was bodied by Metal Sections. Finally CMB had ordered another 305 33-foot Fleetlines (LF1-305) and 30 31-foot Fleetlines (SF2-31). LF1-106 were also bodied by Metal Sections when new, while LF107-305 and all SFs were bodied by Alexander. Some of the Metal Sections bodied Fleetlines were rebodied with Alexander kits afterwards.

The model of the Fleetlines produced by Daimler was CRG6, and after the production transferred to Leyland, the model became FE33AGR (LF) and FE31AGR (SF). First Leyland Fleetline for CMB was LF31.

In 1980, CMB purchased 210 second-hand Daimler / Leyland Fleetlines (DMS). CMB allocated XF as fleet number prefix for these buses.
