[ Chek Lap Kok in the Past | Terminal 1 and others | Terminal 2 ]

The island in the centre is Chek Lap Kok, the place where the Hong Kong International Airport was built. Please note that the hill in the south tip of the island is retained for environmental protection purpose. The hill has now been given a name - "Scenic Hill". The sea at the bottom is the site for the Phase 1 development of Tung Chung New Town. (1991/11/23)

Chek Lap Kok (right) viewed from the Northern Lantau Island. Most of the sea areas seen in this photo have now been reclaimed as land. The land on the background is Tuen Mun. Castle Peak is clearly seen in this sunny day. (1991/04/13)
