Various models of Isuzu buses, include MT112K, MT112L, LT133L and LT132L, form the major portion of New Lantao Bus ("NLB") fleet.
In 1985, Isuzu of Japan supplied five JCR460 buses (ILS1-5) to NLB for evaluation. NLB was satisfied with the performance of these buses and acquired more Isuzu buses in the later years.
NLB introduced 39 (ILS6-44) MT112K front-engined buses during 1987-91. Most of these buses did not have air-conditioning installed when new. However many of them were later retrofitted with air-conditioned units. Thirty Longer MT112L buses (ILS45-74) were acquired during 1992-94 to meet the increased passenger demands. Since 1997, NLB started to introduce Isuzu LT133L, LT132L and LV423R buses whose engines were mounted in the rear.
These buses are fitted with various Hong Kong local bodies. Body manufactureres include Jit Luen, Asia and China Kong.
