Following 11-metre, air-conditioned AV1, which joined the fleet in 1994, Kowloon Motor Bus ("KMB") further acquired 530 Volvo Olympians of the same length during 1994-1998.

AV2-111 represent the first batch of the buses introduced during 1994-1995. Among them, AV2-86 are powered by Cummins LT10 engines while AV87-111 are powered by Volvo TD102KF engines. All of them are fitted with ZF 4HP500 transmission. 3+2 seating configuration is adopted on these buses.

AV112-231 belong to the second batch of the buses acquired during 1996-1997. These buses are powered by Volvo TD102KF engines with Voith DIWA 863.2 transmission. Starting from these buses, 2+2 seating configuration is used. The Nippondenso air-condition systems are also modified.

The third and final batch of buses consists of AV232-531 introduced during 1997-1998. These buses are powered by EURO II standard Volvo D10A engines with Voith DIWA 863.2 transmission. Five of these 300 buses, AV238-242, were leased to Long Win Bus when new. They were later returned to KMB.
