CMB - Leyland Victory-2

First Leyland Victory-2 for China Motor Bus (CMB) was introduced in 1979, the bus was then registered as CA 9169 on October 3, 1979. CMB allocated 'LV' as the fleet number prefix to this model, where both alphabets came from the first letter in each of 'Leyland' and 'Victory-2'.

CA 9169, being more often refered to as LV1, was fitted with an Alexander body, with a shallow windscreen. The 'production' vehicles of LV-class started their services in mid-1980, and there were totally 167 LV buses ordered, including LV1.

The Alexander bodies of LV2-147 are similar to that of LV1, except that they have deeper windscreens. However, for the final batch of 20 Victroy-2s, LV148-167, their bodies were provided by Duple (Metsec), which are nearly identical to the bodies of Dennis Jubilants N214-363 of Kowloon Motor Bus.
