China Motor Bus | Guy Arab Mk.V AD 4563

AD 4563 is one of the 106 short-wheelbase Guy Arab Mk.V single-deck buses that China Motor Bus ("CMB") introduced during 1963-1968. Unlike the other 105 buses that were rebuilt to be double-deckers, after 9 years of passenger service, AD 4563 was converted to be a tow-truck in 1972 and received an all-over yellow livery. Though most of the bodywork was removed, the frontal appearance was kept mostly in its original form. AD 4563 worked in CMB together with the end of franchise of the company in 1998 and was transferred to New World First Bus ("NWFB") to continue serving as a tow-truck. During its life in NWFB, AD 4563 was repainted to be the standard orange, white and green livery of the company. AD 4563 finally retired in 2000, and was later bought by a bus enthusiast, who preserved and restored AD 4563 back to its original passenger bus status and conditions of 1960s. The restoration work was completed in 2016 and the bus participated in a public event for the first time, the "Motoring Clubs' Festival" held in Edinburgh Place of Central District on 15 January 2017.
